Where’s the free product I requested?

This blog entry was posted on: 31 August 2010.

From time to time we receive e-mails from visitors asking the whereabouts of freebies they’ve requested. Another e-mail arrived this week and prompted this blog recap on the reasons why a sample may not arrive.

If you’re still awaiting delivery of a freebie you’ve registered for, it may be due to the reasons below. However, in the vast majority of cases visitors will receive samples within six weeks. Remember to be patient! We don’t send out samples ourselves so the schedule is entirely at the discretion of the manufacturer. Not all freebies arrive but most do, so it’s useful to bear this in mind when requesting free products.

Reasons why product samples may not arrive include:

1) The samples have not yet been posted. Don’t expect freebies to arrive within a week or two. If they do, then great. The vast majority will take approximately 28 days in the UK and possibly longer in other countries. It can even take six to eight weeks in some cases.

2) Stocks have run out and the manufacturer is awaiting replenishment. This is sometimes the case when promotions are on-going.

3) The promotion was “first come, first served” and limited to, for example, the first 1000. If for some reason the freebie was still live at the time of request, you may have arrived a little too late.

4) The promotion was a giveaway. These operate on a prize draw basis with a selection of entrants obtaining the product sample. An element of luck is required.

5) The company deemed your address to be incorrect or the request form was not completed in its entirety. Be sure to double-check before clicking on “Submit”.

6) You accidentally completed an offer not available in your country.

7) You specified delivery to a PO BOX (usually not accepted).

8) There was a technical error and your details were never received (rare).

Hopefully this helps to clear up some confusion. If you require any assistance please contact us.
