Free Astronomy Screensaver
At this site, you can download Robert Gregory Garfinkle's "Astronomy 2005 Screensaver". This fabulous freeware screensaver displays spellbinding images of the cosmos, all captured by NASA and numerous other space organisations. Install this program and marvel at the stars of The Pleiades, the rings of Saturn, nebulas and galaxies. Two versions are available: High Res (45MB) and Low Res (11MB).
IconsPLUS
A fantastic site for comic book, sci-fi, TV and film desktop icons. Here, all the icons featured are completely free for private non-commercial usage. Please note, however, that you may not use the icons to spruce up your Web site. These are only for use on your personal computer. Free fonts are also available at IconsPLUS, along with some unique desktop patterns.

Offers some fantastic high quality free desktop wallpapers for your computer in many categories, including: 3D and abstract, animals, cars, people, music, sport, space, movies, nature and more. At this site, you can also find some terrific free Lord of the Rings, South Park and cities and landmarks wallpapers in two popular sizes: 1024x768 and 800x600 pixels.
Freeloader Free Screensavers
At Freeloader's site, you'll find a neat selection of high quality free screensavers. These screen savers are completely free to download and will function on all Microsoft Windows computers, although Mac users will need to select the versions made specifically for them. As well as screensavers, this site serves up some fantastic freebie games.
Free Winamp Skins
The popular audio player, Winamp, is possibly one of the most skinnable programs you'll find on the Internet. Here, you will find hundreds of skins to download free of charge. Their directory of downloadable skins is extensive and some of the categories include: abstract, anime, movies, retro, sports, music, etc. Designers can also submit their own skins for addition.
FreeSaver.com
One of the few "true" free screensaver sites on the Internet. FreeSaver.com has 16 categories containing over 1600 free screensavers for users of Microsoft Windows. And, unlike most screensaver sites claiming to be "free", FreeSaver.com only offers freeware screensavers that have been checked for viruses, spyware and adware. This site also features a screensaver section dedicated to Mac users, and a nifty search feature.
Wallpaper-Free.eu
This site provides a selection of free wallpapers for use on your computer desktop. Wallpaper-Free.eu includes desktop wallpaper featuring scenes from locations, such as the Alps, Egypt, Budapest, Malaysia and Mallorca. You'll also find nature wallpapers, featuring plants and animals, and flight wallpapers, featuring images of aircraft and parachutists. All the wallpapers here are free for non-commercial use.

An excellent site that provides a great mixture of freeware and shareware screensavers to download in numerous categories. Some of the sections you'll find here include: 3D-style screen savers, animals, cartoons, fantasy, TV, nature, cities, aeroplanes, sports, etc. The file size of each screen saver is also provided to give you an idea on the download time.
Digital Car Wallpapers
This site serves up free desktop wallpapers featuring images of cars in two screen resolution sizes: 1024x768 and 800x600 pixels (currently the two most popular sizes). There are around 100 different wallpaper images here, including cars manufactured by Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche and Volkswagen. Digital Car Wallpapers is a regularly updated site with plenty of quality content.

A free desktop wallpaper site from Germany. Mywallpapers.de includes over 13,000 high quality wallpapers in various categories, e.g. anime, cars, games, military, music, sport, TV, films, etc. Here, you can also select your preferred language setting, so if your first language is English, rather than German, then you can switch it and vice versa.
