YolaYola is offering a free Web site package with 1GB storage space, various site templates and an easy-to-use page builder. Better yet, you'll find no banners or pop-ups here to hamper your efforts. This free version has a 15MB file upload limit. Having said that, the service is great for anyone wanting to gain a simple Web presence. No technical knowledge is needed and you can even use your own domain name (not included). A commercial upgrade is available should you need extra resources.

Features supported here include: PHP, two MySQL databases, ".htaccess", custom error pages and one FTP account. The "free" accounts contain no advertising, but should you wish to upgrade, a commercial package is available.
uCozA neat free service offering a hosted Web site builder. uCoz will be particularly attractive to newbies and features free hosting with unlimited disk space. However, unlike similar services, uCoz goes the extra mile by offering photo albums, blogs, polls, message boards and statistics, all of which can be easily plugged into a site depending on your requirements. You can also use this service with an existing domain name.
WordPress.comIf you'd like to set up a free blog site, you would be hard-pressed to find much better than WordPress.com (a hosted service based on the popular blogging software). Blog.comA fun, free and simplistic blog hosting service. It is easy to register at blog.com and you can be running a blog site within minutes (and you needn't have great technical knowledge). Once registered, you can customise the look and feel of your blog, add images, and begin publishing content. If you wish to expand the functionality at a later date, Blog.com allows you to easily upgrade to a commercial package.
My Blog SiteThis free blog hosting service from FortuneCity combines ease-of-use with advanced features for the more Web savvy. TripodOwned by Lycos, Tripod is a popular free homepage provider and ideal for beginners who wish to build their first site. Here's another veteran free Web page provider. Angelfire provides users with 20MB of storage and has plenty goodies to help you announce your Internet home to the world, including online site building tools. FreebieList.com has had reports that this service is quite reliable as far as free Web hosts go. Angelfire is advert supported (they insert a banner at the top and bottom of hosted pages).

Freeservers.com offers short, easy to remember sub-domains and e-mail accounts, such as "yoursite.freeservers.com", "yoursite.8m.com", "yourname.freehosting.net" (and many more besides). They provide 50MB of free Web space, e-mail forwarding and also various page building tools that are ideal for new Webmasters without sufficient technical knowledge. There is a data transfer limit of 1GB and files are limited to 0.25MB in size.
> This service is ad-supported with both banner and pop-up adverts. Freeservers.com no longer offers direct FTP access, although you may manage and upload files via their online file manager.
> If you enjoy having a short sub-domain Web address and require an upgraded service, Freeservers.com offers a number of ad-free commercial packages for a minimal monthly fee.
If you already own a domain name and wish it to be hosted for free, then Doteasy's free hosting package is ideal. They provide 100MB disk storage space, a 1GB monthly data transfer limit, 10 free e-mail accounts, free customer service and also a Web site designing tool that's great for beginners unfamiliar with HTML and Web site creation software.
