Moffsoft FreeCalc
An excellent replacement for the standard calculator program provided by Microsoft Windows. If you've become frustrated by the lack of features on Calculator, set your sights on this freeware download. FreeCalc allows you to save and print your calculations, but also performs a number of additional functions, and includes a sizeable display, system tray icon, "always on top" setting, digit grouping and the ability to change colour schemes. Once you've downloaded FreeCalc, you'll quickly wonder how you ever managed without it. (Functions on Windows 98/NT/2000 and XP)
GOM Media Player
This freeware multimedia player for Microsoft Windows will handle almost any type of multimedia file format you can throw at it. Containing pre-installed audio and video codecs, the program is ideal for playing all kinds of files, including videos and sounds. The program is also able to play some broken media files (i.e. an incomplete or damaged AVI file). GOM can be customised with a variety of skins, which are available to download for free.
Tera Term Pro
A more advanced program than Telnet provided with Microsoft Windows. Tera Term Pro has a range of features such as shortcut keys, macro operators and allows you to compile a history list of accessed hosts. The program also supports VT100 emulation and telnet and serial port connections. Tera Term Pro is freeware, so it will never expire and is free to download (as are all programs here at FreebieList.com).
Free IBM Lotus Symphony Productivity Package
Tired of using Microsoft Office? Then try out Lotus Symphony, a free productivity software package from the creator of popular programs such as Lotus 123. The program includes a word processor, spreadsheet and presentations application, the three major tools you'd expect to find in any modern office package. Symphony is user-friendly, intuitive and makes a great alternative to similar commercial programs.

This nifty freeware program allows you to convert Microsoft Word documents into PDF files, quickly and effortlessly. Once installed, selecting the "print" command in Word will open a dialog where you can convert the file into a PDF. This program will do all the leg-work for you, so even inexperienced users will be creating PDFs on the fly. Note: the freeware version displays a sponsor page each time you run the software.
TK8 Easynote
This freeware program allows you to place virtual sticky notes around your computer desktop to use as reminders. Not only is this a novel and modern way to organise yourself, it also saves on buying new sticky label pads and using all that paper. TK8 Easynote allows users to change the size and position of every note and then set different priorities to them. The program will even alert you when particular tasks need to be completed.
Serif WebPlus 6
A freeware Web site publishing program from Serif (the company behind popular programs such as PhotoPlus and PagePlus). WebPlus 6 allows users to create stylish and effective Web pages, either for personal or business use. The program features a user-friendly interface resembling a desktop publishing package, so even those with no previous HTML knowledge will be able to design attractive pages. File size: 16MB.
EasyTerm
A basic Telnet terminal application that's ideal for beginners. EasyTerm supports a number of different protocols besides Telnet, such as SMTP and POP3 (for e-mail communications). Sessions using the terminal window can be saved for future reference using a log file and EasyTerm also supports ANSI colours on its display. The program is compatible with most versions of Microsoft Windows.
Opera
A fun, free and powerful Web browser application with a plethora of integrated features. Opera includes an e-mail and newsgroup client, file transfer manager, tabbed browsing, pop-up blocker, integrated search, keyboard shortcuts, BitTorrent support and also integrated IRC (Internet Relay Chat). In addition, the browser can be customised by arranging the toolbars, icons and layout, or via a variety of different skins which are available online.
