One of the world’s largest free e-mail providers. Gmail from Google is a powerful, easy-to-use and fast online service, offering 15GB of storage space, excellent spam filtering, plus numerous ways to organise and search through messages. We especially recommend Gmail if you already make use of other Google services, such as Calendar, or if you have an Android-driven device.
Extra details:
Gmail provides extensive customisation options that allow you to tweak the way you view your e-mail. This includes e-mail threading (grouped conversations) versus a traditional mode, different viewing pane layouts, and customisation of e-mail labels to help you manage messages.
By default, Gmail automatically sifts e-mail messages into three folders: Primary, Social, and Promotions. This keeps your inbox tidy and provides better e-mail management.
The service supports POP3 and IMAP access via your favourite e-mail client, e.g. Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, Evolution, Eudora, etc. You can also import mail from other popular services, such as Yahoo!, AOL, etc.
The spam (junk-mail) filtering is better than most other free e-mail services we’ve seen. Although not perfect, it catches the majority of spam mail.
There are many security features to help you keep your messages safe, including two-factor authentication.
