Free Mailing List Services

In this section FreebieList.com reviews the various free newsletter services on the Web. By creating a mailing list and then distributing newsletters, you can establish a loyal following and keep in constant contact with your prospects. The services below are in many cases supported by advertisements, either within the newsletters themselves or on the sign-up pages (or the service may even add their logo to the sign-up form). This is to cover the cost of providing the service to you. If you find yourself sending newsletters on a regular basis, it may be worth upgrading your account and paying for a commercial service, as this will ensure your e-mails are delivered professionally and you'll gain from no additional advertising. Even so, free mailing list services are ideal for getting your newsletter off the ground. Check out the current best providers below. If you happen to stumble across an outdated link, we'd very much appreciate it if you could report it.

Aardvark Mailing List
This service allows you to manage your own opt-in mailing list, completely free of charge. This will allow visitors to enter their e-mail address and then register for your newsletter. Aardvark's mailing list offers a number of excellent features, including automatic subscribe and unsubscribe features.

Bravenet
Amongst many other services (counters, guestbooks, polls, etc.), you'll find an excellent free mailing list at Bravenet. This service provides a number of useful features, most notably double opt-in member processing. They also provide members with pre-built HTML newsletter templates and a mailing list subscription box to place on your site. Notifications can be provided when new members subscribe to your list.

> YourMailListProvider's "free" service limits the number of subscribers any mailing list may have to 1000. Free accounts may only send one newsletter per calendar day.
> This service now allows members to send plain text, HTML or multipart newsletters as they wish.
