This up-and-coming cloud storage provider from Slovenia is offering 10GB of free space when you register for their ‘free’ plan.
Unlike some other providers, Koofr is a secure, safe service that claims to never ‘scan’ your files once you’ve uploaded them. The service is perfect for backing up your photographs, storing videos and other documents.
There’s no limit on file size or file type, giving you the freedom to upload and store files as you see fit. If you delete files, you get 7 days to recover them on the free plan. There’s a 50GB public data transfer limit if you decide to share your files with others.
The free plan also includes a single ‘zero knowledge’ client-side encrypted Vault Safe box, which is intended to house your most important files.
Koofr works across most devices and operating systems. Either log-in directly via a web browser or use their desktop app (for Windows, Mac, and Linux). There’s even an app for Android and Apple iOS devices. The user interface is straightforward enough that even inexperienced users should be able to quickly get to grips with.
The service also has a handy feature that lets you connect other cloud storage accounts (e.g. Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, etc.) so you can access them in one convenient place. Note: the free plan allows a maximum of 2 connections.
There’s a range of collaboration tools available that allow you to work together on Microsoft Office files, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Although the ‘free’ plan gives 10GB of space, you can upgrade for a small monthly fee. Various plans are available, depending on your requirements.
